I bought this unit a little over a month ago to replace a 9-year old HP Deskjet printer. I was really sad to watch it go and questioned if the new, inexpensive printers could cope up to the performance of the older one. After much research I settled to give the Canon Pixma a try. The printer has a slick black and gray design. It is a lot larger than I thought but my table is very long so it doesn’t appear out of place next to my Sony Vaio LT Desktop. But if you have a small space, this printer may take up too much space.

Simplicity of Set Up: I experience a few problems with Vista recognizing this printer at first and had to start set-up a few times before the driver was completely installed.

Performance: This printer is really fast! So quick you would almost think you were ceasing performance for efficiency but that is not the case with this printer. I have used it for basic black text and Internet printing as well as graphic-heavy school projects and pictures and it has worked great in both instances. Overall, I am very glad with my purchase. I used a Pixma iP4000 printer and was satisfied with it until it broke down almost 2 1/2 years after I bought it. I have just bought the iP4500.
