In my view, this was the best iPod ever made. This was the final one made before the new viewing system which I think is preferable to anyone who wants to use their iPod only for a decent amount of music and nothing else. This is a great one. I love how the metal case is all one piece and enfolds around the device unlike the other color 4GB ones that have the glossy back. Appears super cool in black. If you are uncertain about it, I can tell you it grows on you. A lot more solid than 1st-gen iPods mainly due to the flash memory rather than a hard drive. Battery lasts forever, I use it to work out and it can operate in weeks without a charge. I have a new 3rd generation and I love this one better because its more packed and discerning. Presents album art when available but no Cover Flow like 3rd gen. Also has nifty screen lock so if you use it for party music you can prevent people from messing around with your playlists. The 2nd-gen Nanos are arguably the best of the best from Apple. I recently bought a nice 3rd-gen iPod video. Sadly, it just didn’t have the audio punch and unique size/shape of the 2nd-gen Nano. So I “traded” my super-shiny brand new iPod Video to my wife for her scratched-up 4GB pink nano 2nd-gen and I perfectly ENJOY it. It has the perfect size, astounding battery life, crystal clear sound quality, and fits anywhere in my car. I am a guy and still my friends think the pink one looks cool haha!
