Automatic Red Eye Removal with Face Detection

After a shot is captured each detected face is instantly checked for red eye - if it is found, it is adjusted automatically which saves the time-consuming process of editing it later. Face Detection operates by identifying and prioritizing up to 6 faces in a framed view and then setting the focus and exposure consequently to guarantee the sharpness and clearness of human targets in the photo regardless of the scenery.

Picture Stabilization mode

Picture Stabilization employs the enhanced sensitivity of the FinePix S1000fd and high-speed shutter settings to reduce blur made by hand-shake or target movement. It permits the camera to automatically select the right light sensitivity and optimal shutter speed to produce clear, blur-free images.

2.7-inch, high-resolution LCD

Rounding out the FinePix S1000fd’s powerful feature set is a prominent, 2.7-inch high-resolution LCD plus electronic viewfinder and ISO levels of up to ISO 1600 at full resolution and ISO 3200 at 3-megapixel resolution.

This camera is just what I was waiting for - a digital camera with good resolution (10MP), solid zoom capability and an eye hole viewer in addition to the LCD screen. The controls and menus are very similar to an older Fuji Finepix that I also liked. My step-son who has a much more pricey SLR camera was very impressed with the features of this camera.
