Overall this camera takes nice pictures. In full light and outdoors, the pictures are always unbelievable. Inside, it’s touchy, you normally need a flash otherwise you’ll get blur. The lack of flash control makes it tough. At times in low light it will take too bright of a flash and overexpose your pictures whiting out colors. It would be decent if they could have an adjustment for high/low/auto flash. There are new models out there that are certainly reasonably better but this PowerShot is very solid. I purchased the Canon PowerShot SD850 IS 8.0 Digital Elph exactly a month ago. It shipped from Adorama Camera in NYC and came one week after the purchase was placed which I believed was excellent service. I preferred Canon based on a friend’s general testimonial of the brand and I picked out this model based on user reviews posted on Amazon. The Canon Powershot SD850 IS 8.0 MP Digital Elph is an awesome small camera! It replaced another Canon Powershot Digital Elph that I had been expending for years. I had trouble getting clear (not hazy) shots with my former camera particularly when shooting without the flash. The image stabilizer in this camera truly makes a big difference.
