Definition of an indoor antenna
As opposed to being mounted on the roof, it is a type of Radio or TV Antenna set indoors. Indoor antennas are usually a simple and cheap solution that may operate well when the receiver is relatively near to the broadcasting transmitter and the building walls do not fend the radio waves too much.
It is prone to picking up more electrical noise that may interfere with a clear (analog) reception when being close to other electric or electronic device in the building. The noise is less of a problem when used for digital broadcast which lately makes this type of antenna a more preferred solution.
What others have to say about Terk HD-TVA amplified indoor antenna
Purchase this one if you have HD. It is terrific. I’ve used 2 other antennas and none got a signal anywhere near as great as this one. Don’t be fooled by the dB output. The design of this unit ensures a strong signal. All of my local channels are 20% stronger with this Terk antenna and the RCA nonsense some bigbox is pushing. It’s plug and play, too. For the price, I would get this one every time! - EMW from Milwaukee, WI
In one word - amazing! I had first bought an indoor antenna at Radio Shack and the sales agent said getting HDTV was a hit or miss. Well that one was a miss. But I did some research and bought the Terk directional HDTVa indoor antenna. What a difference! I get most of the Orlando channels and any HD channels not having any problem. Some stations come in at 1080i, but most are at 720p. Please give it a try, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. - REH from Melbourne, FL
Went online to Buy.com and read the reviews on the TERK HDTVa antennas and determined to try it. Plugged it in and was astounded. Our reception went from often getting a picture to a perfect picture. Have been using for a few weeks now and have never had any worry. Great product. - Customer from Sherwood, AR
I bought the Terk antenna and I am extremely happy with the quality of the HD picture that it pulls in off the air. It is attached to a 32″ Vizio HDTV in my office and the quality of the picture is perfectly great. I pull in all of the major TV channels. The picture quality can readily be adjusted by positioning the antenna. My patients don’t want to leave the waiting room when I call them because they enjoy watching the TV programming! - Dr. Mark from Brooklyn, NY
